This weekend was so uneventful and so needed!
We unpacked and set up the new apartment... pretty much everything's now in its place and it feels great!
We'll only be here about 5 months, but I still wanted to hang pictures and make it feel homey. That's what we did, and it finally feels nice and comfortable.
On Friday night we got take-out sushi and redboxed Rock of Ages. It was actually pretty funny and of course I sang along the whole time. I can't help loving the 80s music, no matter how terrible it is.
The rest of the weekend was spent on the couch...on Pinterest... eating...
Home-made stew (amazing for this cold weather), Belated Halloween cupcakes, and Ben&Jerrys were this weekend's staples. (How do I not weigh a million pounds?)
Also, this stuff is amazing: In a medium glass, 3 ice cubes, 1/2 Pumpkin Pie Liqueur, 1/2 milk, top with whipped cream and sprinkle with cinnamon. So.Good.
So, here's to a weekend of being lazy, not doing my hair and wearing no makeup (do you know how much time that saves, by the way?)
We got an extra hour of sleep today, which I didn't use at all... I just got up earlier. It gets dark at 5 and I'm not a fan. Can it be Spring already??
I'm about to start my LAST week of work... I didn't want this week to come, but I also want to get it over with so bad. So, bring it on. I can't believe this week is finally here! Now, excuse me while I go cry (and all my co-workers were not surprised ;) )
Linking up with Sami, Dana, and Leeann for Weekend Update!
that sounds like a wonderful weekend! sushi and a movie at home is my kind of night!
ReplyDeleteAww, I know it's a bittersweet thing to leave this job. :( At least you get a week off to mourn. I'm so glad y'all are all settled in...I don't blame you for wanting to hang pictures and stuff...I know our apartment is starting to feel naked now that I'm taking our stuff down and filling in the holes.
ReplyDeleteI need to try that pumpkin pie drink! Glad you are all moved in and settled :)
ReplyDeleteThat pumpkin pie drink sounds amazing. And I didn't know Ben & Jerry's had a key lime pie flavor!? Key lime is my favorite!

ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with eating ice cream and watching movies all weekend - wish it was me! Maybe next weekend...
So I almost bought the key lime B&J's this weekend, but opted for the Greek yogurt instead :) Def taking a page from your book! A weekend at home sounds so great! I hope I can have one of those soon. Haha. And good luck with your last week of work. It's going to be hard, but you have new adventures ahead and things can only go up, right?!
