Darn, it's Monday again. Why does the weekend always fly by when the weekdays drag on? We didn't have a very exciting weekend, which was totally fine with me. Sometimes I like having no plans.
I got my first Diamond Candle and found this pretty thing inside...
It's not marked, and definitely a CZ. I like it a lot!
If you haven't heard of Diamond Candles, they're candles with a diamond ring buried inside! Rings are valued from $10-$5000. You have to burn the candle for a little while in order to get down to the ring... that was the hardest part!
Here's a picture of the candle after burning on Friday and Saturday... the gold foil circle tells you where the ring is hidden!
If you want to order your own Diamond Candle, you can get $5 off. Click here for that!
I really like the candle {Gingerbread Latte} and there are tons of different scents to pick from. You can really smell the scent throughout the house, and it smells great even after it's been put out. It's so fun to unveil the surprise!
The weekend was spent eating good food, shopping, and catching up on housework. Does anyone feel like they can never keep up with housework? I feel like the laundry is overflowing out of the hamper right after I wash all of it. The floor is dirty again 2 seconds after it's mopped. There are only two of us, and we aren't messy people. At all. I can't even imagine what it's going to be like when we have children someday.
I have to tell you, though, I had an interesting first experience this weekend.
We went to a junkyard.
Yeah... words I never thought I'd say.
Chris needed this small part for the interior of his car which broke the other day. So, off we went to a junkyard nearby {which I had no clue existed}.
Apparently that was the place to be on Saturday morning because it was packed.
It's pretty simple... cars are sitting there that have been crashed, and people come to "harvest" parts off of them. We saw people with power tools literally tearing these cars apart for parts. Pretty crazy and kind of cool in a way. There were so many cars.

Then, this happened...
There are no words. I have the coolest boyfriend ever.
And to him, I'm the coolest girlfriend because I went to a junkyard with him.
So now, I can check that one off the bucket list. I just added it, because it was never there in the first place.
I don't think I'll ever do that again. It was dirty.

Sunday night was spent relaxing with homemade pizza, pumpkin beer, and the Emmys.
I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!

I laughed so hard when I read "It was dirty." I went to one once and I can honestly say I would never like to go back either! :)
ReplyDeleteWhoa, I've never seen the diamond candle before, very cool! Also, I want your Sunday night, ours was way too busy haha.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of a diamond candle. That's kind of neat. I mean obviously a real diamond would be great, but pretty jewelry is pretty jewelry. That ring is nice!
ReplyDelete(about the diamond candle) wow, what a cool concept...definitely one of those "why didn't i think of that" ideas!
ReplyDeletelooks like you had a blast at the junkyard! when i was in highschool, i was really into old muscle cars and i would just go to the junkyard just to see what was there. it's such an interesting place!
i've never seen a diamond candle before. Such a great idea!
ReplyDeleteooo goodness, i don't know what i'd do if i was asked to go to a junkyard. you're such a good sport!
ReplyDeletehappy monday!
xoxo, sarah grace
Haha! I love that you had never been. We have one here that is centrally located to our house, and Dustin's grandpa's. Dustin likes to break his car. Alot. So, we frequent the junk yard. Alot. It's not super super dirty here - just dusty and old cars. But you can find some great things!
ReplyDeleteI am jealous of your candle! I can't wait to order mine!!
Oh - and as far as the housework - I stay home and I'm never caught up. With 3 dogs, I don't even know why I mop the floor.....I do at least a load of laundry every day, and that keeps it at bay...I have figured that much out :)
The diamond candle is fun, I had never heard of it before!
ReplyDeleteI went to a trailer park Friday night with my bf to buy a car he was going to flip. There are far too many car events/outings have been considered "dates" in our relationship, including a junkyard. So you are not alone!
The diamond candles sound awesome! How fun!
ReplyDelete*cute blog, visiting from the link-up :)
AWESOME photo of him! I literally laughed out loud!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the candle break down, I've been wondering about those. I kept thinking wouldnt you just burn the ring? You got a really pretty one! Maybe I should try them out...
As far as cleaning, I felt the same way but now I made a schedule. I clean one area a day (kitchen, bathroom, laundry, living room, etc.) If I have a less busy Monday night, like I'm just home alone with Hawkeye and there's no dinner plans, I'll clean two areas. Once I kept up with it, it's so easy. I spend barely any time doing it since it never piles up. And then I don't stress if the bathroom is a mess, I just think oh well, it can wait til Wednesday!
Finding a ring in your candle would definitely be fun! And I totally get what you mean about housework - the second something is clean it gets dirty again. Oh well :)
ReplyDeleteDiamond candles are so much fun!! I couldn't wait when I got mine. I burned it for a few hours and then started digging with a pliers to pull out the ring :) Seriously - best idea ever!!
